Growing Talent

Our Growing Talent program is our way of honoring the folks who make life on the farm better for all of us. Each month we dedicate this space to a team member whose passion, dedication, and hard work make our vision for The Future of Farming a reality.

Looking for a place to grow?

Meet Brian (Again)

We are pleased to introduce you to Brian Campbell - KFH’s very first multiple-time winner of the Growing Talent Award. Originally from Boyle County, Brian knew he had found his calling when he first laid eyes on the greenhouse in Stanford. Technically, Brian is a Fertigation Team Lead for KFH, but where he really makes his mark is in his willingness and ability to help across all Ops teams in a big way.

This past month, Brian has been given several maintenance tasks that were unable to be completed by our maintenance team, but Brian was able to resolve the issue. He is always ready to learn new things, and helps solve problems whenever and wherever he is needed. He continues to prove himself to be an extremely valuable employee and pivotal to the overall success of the company. As a true embodiment of the Growing Talent Award, Brian is hard working, a strong leader, takes initiative, and is dedicated to the growth and success of KFH.

Brian is motivated by providing for and supporting his family and being an example of working hard to achieve your dreams.  His dream, while continuing to work with KFH, is to buy and maintain his own farm for his family. As one KFH manager says, “Brian never ceases to amaze me.” We are so glad to have Brian on our team and working to make the Future of Farming a reality in Stanford.

February 2021

Meet Joe

We’d like you to meet Joe Goode, our Growing Talent Award winner for the month of February. Joe was hired as the first employee on the KFH construction team over 4 years ago and is now a Construction Supervisor. He has maintained consistent growth in his position and has assumed more and more responsibilities over time by demonstrating he is capable.

As a Stanford native, Joe enjoys the chance to earn a living while staying close to home and making a difference in his community. KFH has made a difference in Joe’s life by offering him an opportunity to grow and excel, and Joe is paying it forward. Joe represents KFH well in the way he is committed to his job, shows up every day ready to work hard, and through his track record of weathering adversity and maintaining his forward course.

Our managers know Joe’s value to the company and will tell you that he can always be counted on to come through when he is needed. Accountability, reliability, initiative, leadership and loyalty are all words that describe Joe and his work ethic. Joe was especially put to the test last month during a week of rough winter weather during mid-February in Kentucky that caused maintenance issues in our greenhouse. He stayed at work overtime to assist our Facility and Boiler Manager in getting everything back to shape and we can not thank him enough.

By recognizing Joe with our Growing Talent Award, this is one small way we are thanking him for all his hard work and dedication to KFH and to our mission. Joe knows the difference we are making in Kentucky and to Kentuckians and we are glad he is helping us make the Future of Farming a reality.

December 2020

Meet Louis

Meet Louis Goode, our Growing Talent award winner for the month of December.  We are so happy to have Louis with us and he's been a fantastic part of our construction team during the two years he has been employed with KFH. As a Stanford native, he is happy to have received such a good opportunity so close to home. His labor skills are top notch and it would be very difficult to find someone else that could match his work ethic, experience and ability.  Hard work comes naturally to Louis and he brings an attitude of dedication, commitment, a strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and can be relied upon to flat out get things done.

Louis really loves working with everyone on the KFH team.  His naturally happy and positive attitude shines through in his work and rubs off on others, creating an all-around enjoyable working environment.  Louis even took the initiative to start a prayer group that serves as a source of support to uplift other KFH workers both on the job and at home.  He believes that everyone deserves a second chance in life, and that if you take responsibility for your own direction you are fully capable of overcoming anything that is holding you back.  Louis' work is a true reflection of someone who is committed to bettering himself and sharing goodwill with everyone around him.

As one of our managers puts it, " We need more people like Louis not only on our team but in the world period."  Our Growing Talent Award gives us the platform to recognize Louis and all his contributions.  We are grateful to Louis for all the work he's done and are so glad to have him as part of the team.

August 2020

Meet Jeff

We’re proud to announce Jeff Adkins as the recipient of our Growing Talent Award for the month of August. Jeff, a native to Stanford, joined us in April of this year - just as things were heating up at KFH - and he’s been a valuable asset since day one.

As a Packhouse Team Member, Jeff may be working on 15 different projects at once, but he always makes sure to get the job done. He’s an extremely reliable member of the team who believes “what is earned with hard labor is eaten with pleasure”.

That philosophy extends into his home life as Jeff enjoys cooking, landscaping and woodworking. As a native of Stanford, and an original member of the Packhouse Team, he is the perfect person to honor as we put the final touches on our packaging line this month.

With this award, we want to show our appreciation for Jeff and his outstanding work ethic. Thank you Jeff!
